4yo filly – Sottsass x Kitkitty

My O My was bought for £1,050 at Newmarket last October, having previously made 100,000 guineas as a yearling — a reminder that ability was once expected, even if her career has yet to reflect that.
She was very green on her two-year-old debut, missing the break badly, and did not reappear until the autumn of her three-year-old season. On her return she was given a quiet ride and ran on reasonably with handicaps in mind, before being caught wide at Kempton on her next start and paying for it late on.
Her pedigree suggests middle distances should suit — she is by Arc winner Sottsass — and nothing she had shown suggested sprint trips were her natural level. With handicaps approaching at the time, we felt it was too early to draw firm conclusions.
Since joining us she has settled well at Shaun Lycett’s yard, but her two runs this winter have been disappointing. She raced greenly at Lingfield and, although meeting some trouble at Kempton, never really travelled into the race.
Headgear may be worth exploring, but at this stage we are still searching for the key to her.
